The Role

A Software Development Engineer in Test [SDET] at McAfee is a developer with the primary responsibility of effective assurance of product quality through test automation, code inspections, peer reviews, white-box testing and other forms of engineering excellence. It is a unique and challenging role that calls for a strong passion for quality and technology, while providing an immense opportunity to design and develop wide-reaching tools. It combines the “building” aspect of software development with the “testing” part of quality assurance. As an SDET you can analyze business requirements and scenarios very well. Conduct white box testing, create test plans, test cases and build test frameworks to execute them.

Key Responsibilities

· Analyzing requirements, able to understand impact on existing systems and come up with an all-encompassing solution

· Represent QA and contribute to reviews like architecture, design & code reviews

· Set up and run code reviews for his / her own and development team’s work

· Ensure testability in code and measure code coverage data regularly

· Ensure product quality through continuous testing and refinement of the code base

· Help QA team to arrive at correct set of black box test cases for any code change made during testing phase

· Design and implementation of automated test framework

· Building custom test automation frameworks and automation scripts for BVT

· Develop tests for API dependencies

· Collaborate with developers to create White box test strategy, test plans

· Responsible for White box testing during Integration test phase

Qualifications

Required Experience/Skills & Education

· Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Computer science

· 2 to 5 years of experience in developing and testing web security applications.

· In depth knowledge of Windows OS

· Extensive Experience with designing and building automation frameworks preferably using Test Complete tool and Java Script

· Expertise in Design/Architecture and Development experience with White box and Black Box testing techniques

· skills using VSTS 2010

· In-depth working knowledge of debugging in C++

· Experience in object-oriented design and coding practice

Must have Skills

· Highly proficient in C++,VSTS 2010.

· Test Planning

· Strong Development background with an emphasis on structural or white box testing

· Thorough knowledge in white box test techniques and strong in code coverage concepts & implementation

· Excellent problem solving and communication skills

· Automation Experience using VB script/java script/

· Automation Framework Development

· Passion for white Box testing

Nice to have skills:

· Experience in Test Complete Automation tool.

· Knowledge of Shell scripting

· Experience in software source control systems

· Knowledge of COM+ technologies will be a plus

· Experience in Security Domain

· Experience in Agile teams would be preferred
