The Webstore India team is looking for innovative, results-oriented Software Development Manager to help architect high volume transactional system that will be used by every major brand in the world as their ecommerce platform. We are currently looking for an experienced manager responsibility for the planning, hiring, execution and success of the project. You are innovative, resourceful, flexible and self-directed. You gain the respect of software engineers and software test engineers quickly and you’re able to excite customers, internal stakeholders and your team about a vision, a product and a roadmap beyond V1.
You also like to roll up your sleeves and get hands on when necessary. Our ideal candidate prioritizes well, communicates clearly and compellingly, understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong team and has a demonstrable track record of success building teams and delivering new features or products. Webstore, like many others at Amazon, depends on other team's services, so you will be an active contributor in this extended team in the effort of delivering features working with teams across Amazon. You will get a chance to exercise your judgment in determining/recommending the best designs based on business objective, time line and resource constraints.
- BS degree or higher in CS
- Have a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
- Be a strong leader, mentor, recruiter and people manager
- Has 5-10 years of experience in software development and 4+ years as a development manager
- Gain credibility with engineers quickly
- Work effectively across functional teams
- Be customer focused and result oriented
- Experience in the eCommerce domain is desirable
- Have demonstrated the ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Have experience building and running distributed systems for online services at scale
