Job Description
Amazon is looking for an exceptional Technical Editor / Writer - U.K. English (India) speaking, to maintain content and drive localization efforts needed for Amazon.
Our external business client base is growing rapidly, and as a technical editor on this team you will interact with technical editors and business/product teams in the U.S., EU, and Asia to draft, edit, translate, and maintain editorial content, including help pages, support associate information, and announcements for U.S., EU, and Asia Merchant, Marketplace, Advantage, FBA, and Dropship platforms. This position will be located in Bangalore, India.
The successful candidate will exhibit:
Outstanding skills in writing about complex technical subjects to a variety of audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
Proven experience of technical editing/writing in a similar role.
Ability to be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a global team environment.
Affinity for technology and a proven background in technical writing or editing and information design.
Precise documentation and clear communication skills.
Strong HTML skills.
Fluency in written U.K. English (India).
Additional language skills/fluency in German, French, Spanish, or Italian is a plus.
Working knowledge of JavaScript, Darwin Information Typing Architecture, XML, Flash, Photoshop and Adobe Captivate is a plus.
Instructional Design experience is a plus.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, linguistics, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- 3 - 5 years technical writing/editing experience
- 3 - 5 years experience with HTML, XHTML, Darwin Information Typing Architecture, and/or CSS
- 3 - 5 years experience with Adobe RoboHelp or MadCap Flare
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
- Personal initiative, flexibility, and intellectual curiosity
- Ability to conceptualize and execute projects, with strong bias for action and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Experience with self-service training software (for example, Camtasia, Captivate) preferred
- Experience working on an editorial team supporting multiple languages a plus
