Basic Qualifications

• B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/Ph.D degree in computer science or related fields, or equivalent experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Design and build extremely reliable, scalable and high performing enterprise systems in about one-third the time that most competent people think possible.

The WW Traffic team is specifically chartered with the responsibility of marketing our products, and to drive traffic to Amazon to increase sales. We employ several advertising channels to be able to bring customers to Amazon, like Paid Search, Free Search, Core Associates, Enterprise Associates, Email marketing, Deals&Events, Online Display, Social Media, Browser Integration and Life stage marketing. Each of these programs are separately deployed systems. 

The Deals team especially provides technology and expertise necessary to identify and evaluate deals, surface them in a convenient and habit-forming way to customers, and executes marketing activities across traffic channels while defining processes and standards necessary to track and manage daily operations in each country. We need talented technical professionals that are empowered and driven to build world class experiences for mobile apps. 

We are looking for a “Software development Engineer-Test” to work on the automated mobile app verification solutions and services. Ideal candidate should have proven expertise in scalable systems, working across technologies, and mentoring junior engineers. Background of working in the mobile development space (Android, iOS) is a plus.

A Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Amazon is a developer with the primary responsibility of writing frameworks and tools to test products. It is a very unique and challenging role and provides immense opportunity to design and develop wide-reaching tools. It combines the "building" aspect of software design engineering with the "breaking" aspect of software test engineering. You’ll be writing code that automatically verifies the quality of the product. That means that you potentially write more code than the developers.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build automated test frameworks and test suites. Utilize innovative testing technologies to develop product's testing strategy.
• Participation in design and code inspections.
• API level testing.
• Perform manual testing, the scope of which will encompass all functionalities of services as a prequel to automation.
• Analyze test logs; create test reports, co-ordinate with stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications : 

• BS degree in Computer Science from a reputed institution.
• 5+ years core development experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and data structures.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrable experience in writing clean code quickly. Preferably Java coding.
• Experience in RDBMS databases.
• Mobile device based test automation experience.
• Understanding of QA methodologies, life cycle and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-lingual testing frameworks and automation experience.
• Selenium or QTP automation tools. Java or C++ coding.
• Oracle or SQL.
• Experience in writing web based product testing frameworks and automation tools.
• Web based product experience.
