Job Description

The Ad Optimization team in Bangalore is part of Advertising Technology group and has the charter to solve optimization problems for ad-programs in Amazon. The Advertising Technology group in Amazon powers online advertising programs for some of the world's largest websites, including Amazon.com and other prime online properties. We supply the technology to show the right ad to the right customer at the right time. 

Computational Advertising is one of the most challenging areas for algorithmic optimization due to the scale of the problem, direct impact on business and because of the interplay of multiple areas like machine learning, statistics, data mining, data streams, computational economics and econometrics. We build advanced and highly scalable algorithms to optimize performance for advertiser, publisher, ad-network and user. We are currently focused onsolving optimization problems in the areas of traffic quality, publisher fraud, user quality, affiliate fraud and publisher optimization.

The data scientist is responsible for solving complex big-data problems in online advertising space using data mining, machine learning, statistical analysis and computational economics. An ideal candidate should strong depth and breadth knowledge in machine learning, data mining and statistics. The candidate should have reasonable programming and design skills to manipulate unstructured and big data, build prototype that work on massive datasets or even components that work within production systems. The candidate should be able to apply business knowledge to do broad data analysis as a precursor to modeling and to provide valuable business intelligence

Basic Qualifications

• Phd/MTech/MS or equivalent degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or Statistics
• 8+ year relevant industry or research experience
• Strong knowledge of data mining, machine learning techniques and statistics
• Experience with big data
• Strong problem solving, programming skills and computer science fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Hadoop and other distributed computing platform
• Experience with tools like Weka, R and other machine learning packages

In Chennai we have very spirited and innovative team working on the Kindle Development and Quality engineering and we have an opening for a Quality Assurance Engineer. 
• To be a Quality Assurance Engineer at Amazon you are expected to demonstrate your leadership skills, play as an individual contributor or as team player as required. In Amazon we believe in ownership so you should be ready to take ownership and deliver results with high quality.
• SQA Engineers test code at the user level, both manually and with automated tools. Our SQA Engineers are not pure black box testers; they are more grey box, able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with Perl scripts and/or user-level automated tools. SQA Engineers work with Software Development Engineers to understand features and technical implementation. SQA Engineers should also work with groups such as Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments. 

Basic Qualifications :

Requirement:

•  BE/BTech/MCA/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
•  3-6 years of industry Experience
•  Strong Knowledge on Test process and Test methodologies
•  Strong in driving Test Plan and test cases
•  Experience of working in one or more projects for the entire Test cycle
•  Ability to take ownership, test and deliver
•  Knowledge of one of the programming/scripting language “Java/C/C++/Perl/Python”
•  Exposure to UNIX platform
•  Experience in any of the automation framework would be added advantage
•  Prior device testing experience a plus
•  Good academic background
•  Good problem solving skills
•  Excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications :

•  Device QA experience is much preferred but not mandatory.
