Amazon Webstore is looking for an energetic, focused and skilled Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead programs within the Amazon Webstore, an integral part of Amazon's seller business. Amazon Webstore provides a differentiated ecommerce product that makes it fast, simple and low cost for companies to sell online, while leveraging the capabilities of Amazon's marketplace, fulfillment services, and secure, scalable infrastructure. - Effectively manage customer expectations and resolve conflicts that balance seller, buyer, and service team needs.
- In an agile environment, drive the entire product lifecycle: requirements definition through specification, design, coding, quality assurance, implementation, integration, launch, and production support with seller and buyer usability in mind.
- Synthesize requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines. This will include writing detailed functional and test specification, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features.
- Understand service interdependencies and drive towards technical solutions for multi-tiered systems
- Clarify, prioritize and drive project commitments as well as establish and maintain clear chains of accountability
- Address bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and encourage risk-taking behavior to maximize business benefit
- Tackle configuration and debugging tasks through issue isolation and deductive reasoning
- Mentor junior employees and build effective teams
Candidate Profile:
Successful candidates will have the opportunities to work as part of a team to expand the Amazon WebStore platform in several ground-breaking areas. The TPM will interact with a broad cross section of the Amazon organization spanning a wide range of technologies.
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years industry experience as a program manager within a technology environment, with a progressive record of successful delivery of complex software systems.
- Prior experience as a software engineering, or software tester.
- Familiarity with web services, multi-tiered systems, workflow modeling and enterprise application integration.
- Bachelors or Masters in computer science, engineering or a related technical discipline.
